A dedication to personalized service is what has helped Modern Tux achieve what few businesses accomplish: celebrate their 14th anniversary in business.
Says owner Maja Pederson, “It’s amazing, we are now getting brides as far away as Ohio and West Virginia. Word-of-mouth is powerful. I am looking forward to the next ten years!”
The store has won several awards including “Carlson Craft Distinguished Dealer” for outstanding sales and service of wedding invitations and “Bridal Professional-of-the- Year” by readers of the Weddingpages publication.
“We are quite pleased with the recognition. Our hard work and dedication to service has really helped our business grow,” says Pederson.
Her store also has gotten bridal industry recognition when it was one of only nine stores in the country to be invited to an all expenses paid trip to New York City to preview and critique a new line of gowns from Sweetheart Gowns.
“The purchase of wedding apparel is one of the most service intense purchases a woman will make,” explains Pederson. “Bridal gowns are extremely personal purchases, and brides really want and need expert consulting in finding the right gown. Also, once the woman has her gown, she needs alterations, steaming and pressing the gown, and help with her accessories. There really is a lot involved.”
The store has even written its own custom computer software to take customer service to the highest possible level. “We can double and triple check anything,” says Pederson. ”When you are doing an entire wedding, right down to dyeing shoes, knowing that nothing can be overlooked is a real benefit to our customers!”

And for the second time, the store is expanding its floor space in order to add to their already impressive bridal, bridesmaids, prom and mother’s dress inventories.
Says owner Maja Pederson, “It’s amazing. We get brides as far away as Ohio and West Virginia. Just this past week, we had a bride drive four hours from Maryland. Word-of-mouth is powerful.”
